Mixed Choir of the Choral Conducting, Church Music, Artistic Education, Eurythmics and Jazz Department of the Music Academy in Gdansk was established in October 2016. Before that the students used to sing in a female and male choir, but often took part also in the projects as a mixed choir. The choir cooperates with academic orchestra and other regional choirs. In May 2016 the choir was awarded with a golden diploma at the 12th International Choir Festival Mundus Cantat Sopot. In December 2016, the ensemble performed as a training choir at the 2nd Polish-American Choir Music Workshop directed by Prof. Paul Crabb (USA).
Michal Kozorys
Conductor / Leader
Dr Michal Kozorys works at the Music Academy in Gdansk (since 2005). In 2012 he obtained his PhD in conducting. He works also at the Primary Music School in Gdansk as a conductor of the children’s choir and string orchestra. He is a founder and a conductor of the chamber choir Supra Vocalis Ensemble. He is a regional coordinator of the project of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage “Choral Academy - Singing Poland”.
