Sladki Vrh children's choir works within the Sladki Vrh Primary School. Its members are pupils aged 11 to 15 and they simply enjoy singing and making music. They perform on regular basis and at several choir contest on the local, regional and as well as on the international level. They recorded their own CD, and performed a successful musical Wizzard of Oz. Many years the choir takes part in the prestigious song event in Olomouc – in 2011 Sladki Vrh children's choir won a silver medal/award. In 2013, the choir was selected for the regional competition and received a sliver medal. Every participation in Festival of Songs means a never-to-be-forgotten experience for them. Sladki Vrh children's choir is extremely looking forward to share their musical and cultural trends and spread the joy of songs. The choir is led by Jelka Veit, piano accompaniment is Otmar Plavčak.
Jelka Veit
Conductor / Leader
Prof. Jelka Veit is a musical educator and a conductor. She worked as a rehearsal coach at Akademski pevski zbor Maribor and led Retirement men's choir Maribor with which they were recording, gave radio performances, and participated in regional choir competitions. She has been leading Male-voice's choir Paloma Sladki Vrh for 5 years, Folk's choir singers in Voličina (6 years), helped the autochthonous folk music Girls' vocal group Sladki Vrh, Female's choir Primary School Sladki Vrh. She wrote music for a puppet show and arranged songs for choirs and school's band. She prepared, arranged and directed the musical The Wizzard of Oz.
