The Choir of Moscow State Institute of culture “The Russian canon” is a young collective with rich traditions of concert activity. The repertoire of the choir includes classic Russian and Western-European music, renditions of folk songs, and works by contemporary composers. The choir works with professional orchestras. The choir took part in a concert performance of opera by G. Bizet «Karmen» (2012), Requiem G.Faure (2011), Mass di Gloria by D. Puccini (2013), oratorio St. Matthew Passion by metropolitan Illarion (2013). In November 2013 «Five Days that Changed the World» by Bob Chilcott was performed for the first time in Russia.The chorus received the title “The Best University Choir” XXIII International contest - festival of academic choirs in Pardubice (2014). The choir “Russian Canon” received the award of the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation for their “Contribution to culture”.
Olga Burova is a choir Conductor, teacher and public figure. Laureate of international competitions. Graduate of the Gnesins’ Russian Academy of Music. Deputy Head of the chair Department of Choral Conducting Moscow State Institute of Culture Active participant of seminars and workshops for music teachers and choirmasters in Russia and abroad. Olga Burova is an author of a number of articles about history of choral art and choral education for children. Creator and artistic director of the Chamber choir Ozarenie of the Moscow Music Society.
