The founding of The Mysterium Chamber Choir, a part of the Mysterium Kranj Culture Association, in autumn 2005 was driven by a desire to recreate choral. Since its inception, the post of the choir’s artistic director was held by its co-founder and conductor, Mrs Urška Štampe. From September 2016 is the artistic director of the choir Mr Gregor Klančič. The repertoire comprises of both secular and sacred music, written by Slovene and foreign composers alike. The Choir is known for its resounding, critically-acclaimed evening and themed concerts, either solo or featuring other choirs when performing longer, more complex musical pieces, often joined by instrumental ensembles. In addition to regular concert activities, the choristers are happy to partake in charity concerts, appear at festivals and establish contacts with choirs from Slovenia and abroad. Both in Slovenia and abroad, the Choir regularly enters various competitions, often winning grand prizes.
Gregor Klančič, choir conductor and organist, who holds a degree in music pedagogy and church music, is a graduate of the Academy of Music, Ljubljana, Slovenia. As an organist he is often performing in Slovenia as well as abroad. He cooperates with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, also with many vocal soloists, instrumentalists and prominent Slovenian choirs. He was a member of a professional Slovenian Chamber Choir and is its assistant conductor since 2004. He is the artistic director of Consortium Musicum choir and The Mysterium Chamber Choir. He co-organizes a concert series Sacral subscription in Ursuline church, Ljubljana. He is a music manager in The Archdiocese of Ljubljana, a headmaster and a professor at Organ school, Ljubljana. He works as an organist in The cathedral St. Nicholas of Ljubljana.
