35 children aged between 8-12 sing in the Estonian Television Children’s Choir which aside from singing and dance lessons in Lasteekraani Muusikastuudio study in music schools or specialized music classes. Most of them started their studies at the studio already at the age of 3 or 4. The repertoire of the choir includes both Estonian and foreign choral music, folk and children’s songs. Estonian Television Children’s Choir started in new composition in August 2006 (at that time as Estonian Television Young Children’s Choir) and their first important undertaking was as back-up singers in the nationwide competition “Laulukarussell 2006” which is broadcasted in Estonian Television and where the choir has performed ever since up to today. The choir’s first national competition was “Estonian IV young children’s choirs’ competition-festival” in May 2008 and their first foreign competition was “Festival of Songs Olomouc 2008” in June 2008.
