The ELTE Pro Musica Choir was founded in 1984. The members study at the ELTE Univerity - Faculty of Humanities- Department of Music, they will be music teachers at primary and secondary school. (ELTE- that is the name of the biggest and oldest University in Budapest: Eötvös Lorand Tudomány Egyetem – Eötvös Loránd: famous Hungarian physicist) The Pro Musica choir won several prizes at international choir competitions in Germany, France, Grece and Italy. In the last 30 years the choir was conducted by Eva Kollár, Ákos Erdős, and – like this year- by Zsuzsanna Mindszenty. The choir regularly gives concerts at the University, in the concert-life of Hungary and in different cities of Europe. The repertoire consists of pieces from early ages and also contemporary musics. At the selection of the works the most important goal is, that the students familiarize themselves with the famous choir pieces of the Hungarian and world literature.
Zsuzsanna Mindszenty
Conductor / Leader
Conductor Zsuzsánna Mindszenty DLA, professor at the Music Department, instructs choir conducting and choir practice. She conducted the ELTE Female Choire from 1989 till 2010. She founded in 1994 the Female Choir Musica Nostra – they won several prizes at international choir competitions (Arezzo, Tours, Marktoberdorf, Bratislava, Namestovo, etc.) She is the president of the Association of Hungarian Choirs and Orchestras -KÓTA, honoured with Liszt Ferenc Prize and several times with Artisjus Prise for permance of contemporary music.
