The “Copernicoro” is made up of students, teachers and personnel of the Liceo Scientifico “Niccolò Copernico” in Udine, Italy. Created in 1994, it has been conducted by Serena Vizzutti since 2002. The repertoire of the chorus includes classical music, traditional Afro-American pieces (spiritual and gospel), classical and folk Italian and foreign songs, and soundtracks. The chorus took part in the Internationales Adventsingen promoted by the Wien Town Hall three times (2003, 2004 and 2009). It also gave concerts in Budapest (Hungary) and Munich (Germany). In 2011 the “Copernicoro” got an evaluation “Silver Level” in the International Choir Competition “Young Prague 2011”. In 2012 they achieved “Silver Level” in the International Choir Competition of Verona, Italy and in 2014 a “Silver Level” in the International Choir Competition of Riva del Garda, Italy. In 2015 the “Copernicoro” won a special prize for the best execution of a piece of ancient music at the “Choral Contest Cantagiovani” in Salerno, Italy.
She got the diploma in harp with full marks at the National Music Conservatory “J. Tomadini” in Udine with her teacher, professor Patrizia Tassini; afterwards she specialized with professor Judith Liber (Israel). Besides the “Copernicoro”, she conducts the chorus “Pueri et Juvenes Cantores del Rojale”. Serena Vizzutti is harp teacher at the Music School “Città di Codroipo” (Udine).
