In the spring of 2013 some ambitious members of the choir Amerlingchor Vienna founded the Mente Contemporanea Ensemble. They traveled to Italy for the Rimini International Choral Competition, where they competed with a diverse a capella program in two categories: Sacred Music and Mixed Voice. The Ensemble was awarded with a silver diploma in both categories. In december 2013 the Ensemble won the 1st price at the International Festival of Advent and Christmas Music in Bratislava in the category Chamber Adult Choirs
He studied composition and piano at his hometown conservatory. He moved to Vienna where he studied orchestra conducting under Professor Georg Mark while simultaneously deepening his literary and philosophical interests at the University of Vienna. He conducted concerts, operettas and operas in Germany, Greece, Italy, Austria, Belgium and the USA and is regularly invited as guest conductor in several orchestras. Since June of 2008 he is a scholarship holder of the foundation" Associazione per la Musica De Sono". In September 2011, Giuseppe Montesano won the first prize at the 5th international competition of conductors in Graz, Austria, and in March 2013 he won the third prize at the national competition for choir conductors „Le mani in suono“. In the season 2012-13 he worked as assistant conductor with the Hulencourt Solists Chamber Orchestra in Bruxelles (Belgium) and since July 2013 he works as assistant for the Neue Oper Wien (Vienna).
