Kenneth Fung

Conductor / Leader

Fung is former chairperson of the Hong Kong Band Directors Association and the Hong Kong Trumpet Guild, vice president of the China Trumpet Guild and chairman of the Asian Pacific Band Directors Association. He joined the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra at the age of 14 and took part in its concert tour to France and England in 1987, he became one of the first graduates of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Fung is one of the founders of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and had been its principal trumpet for seventeen years since 1990. He also appears frequently as soloist with various orchestras in Hong Kong and Macau. He is active in teaching and conducting as well. He has been the conductor for the CCC Kei Wan Primary School (Aldrich Bay) school orchestra and band since 1988 and has guest conducted the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra. He is an Overseas Consultant and tutor for the Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra.
