Since it was founded, at the end of year 2006. “Tambura orchestra KUD Mihovljan” (KUD stands for Cultural-artistic-society) are achieving observed and excellent results at first within Krapinsko-zagorska county and very soon starts to get the best evaluations and reviews from professional experts of this kind of music art. Besides regional festivals and concerts orchestra participate every year on the “Meetings of Zagreb music amateurs – Evening of tambura orchestras” Since 2008. orchestra participate on the international festival of tambura music and that first year wins third prize (bronze plaque – “Tambura of Pajo Kolarić”). Next 2009. year wins second prize (silver plaque) and then 2010., 2011. and this 2012., with amazing performance in Pécs, (Hungary) first prize (golden plaque). On the same festival 2012. orchestra is rewarded by “Croatian composer society” and the conductor receives “Conductor golden hand” award. First CD with 14 compositions was published at the end of year 2010. And next year orchestra was nominated for Croatian discography award “PORIN” in 3 categories: 1. The best album of tambura music 2. The best folk song 3. The best performance of folk music Year 2011. Regional assembly of the Krapinsko-zagorska county has rewarded orchestra with special achievement diploma for their cultural creation. On the January 21. 2012. “Tambura orchestra KUD Mihovljan” had great honor to present itself and perform in the office of the president of the Republic of Croatia, mr. Ivo Josipović. As it happen to be that president Josipović is also a professor of music and a composer, the agreement was made on that occasion that orchestra will record at list one of his compositions on their 2nd CD wich is to be released very soon. The orchestra had appearances on the national television as well as on the regional TV stations. Also in 2011. and 2012. performed on the regional radio festival in Krapina. Last year orchestra had a very remarkable appearance on 61st European music festival for the young people in Neerpelt, Belgium and won 1st prize
