Coro Polifonico Santa Croce

The Santa Croce Polyphonic Choir of Sorso was founded in 2009 and is directed by M° Graziano Madrau. Its repertoire ranges from traditional songs to classical and contemporary polyphony. The choir has participated in numerous national and international competitions and festivals, including the XXIII Choral Festival of Quart de Poblet and the “Veus de la Mediterrania” concerts in Valencia, Spain (2014); the National Choral Competition of Lago Maggiore in Verbania, Italy (2015); the 56th International Choral Singing Competition “Seghizzi” in Gorizia, Italy (2017); and the VIII Liviu Borlan International Choral Singing Competition in Baia Mare, Romania (2018), where it received the Mass Media Award and the Popular Award. Further appearances include the “Antonio Guanti” National Competition in Matera, Italy (2019), the International Festival of Provence in Marseille and Nice, France (2023), and the “Praga Cantat” International Competition in Prague, Czech Republic (2024), where the choir received a special prize for folklore.
Graziano Costanzo Madrau
Conductor / Leader
M° Graziano Costanzo Madrau graduated in Choral Conducting and Choral Music, Singing, and Composition from the L. Canepa Conservatory of Sassari, where he also studied piano, organ, and organ composition. He further developed his expertise through advanced choral conducting courses and masterclasses with renowned Italian and international conductors. Since 2012, he has attended the three-year Choral Conducting School “Il respiro è già canto” in Turin, participating in teaching activities and choir workshops across Italy. Since 2015, he has continued his studies at the Advanced School for Choir Directors in Arezzo, working with leading international choral directors. He currently teaches Theory, Analysis, and Composition at the D. A. Azuni Classical, Musical, and Choral High School in Sassari, and has collaborated with numerous local artists as an author and composer. Since 2009, he has served as Director of the Santa Croce Polyphonic Choir in Sorso.
