Choir Moraviachor was founded in autumn 2012 on the initiative of the conductor of the Belotin Singing Week, Mr Josef Surovik and several enthusiastic singers. Currently there are 35 singers from all over the Czech Republic. They practice once every two months, each time in a different town where the singers live. Each choir meeting ends by giving a concert together with one of the local choirs. Although the choir was founded not long ago, their repertoire is quite vast. It consists of the compositions written mostly in 20th and 21st centuries – sacred music pieces and arranged folk songs. In 2013 the choir took part in the chamber choirs´ competition at the Choral Art Festival Jihlava and acquired silver band. In the category of new compositions Moraviachor obtained second place for the composition Hodie Christus natus est composed by its singer Tereza Surovikova. The leader and conductor of the choir is Mr Josef Surovik.
