MVC „Vitez“ was founded in 2021 as one of the sections of KUD Konjščina and named after Vladimir Vitez, a legendary music teacher at OŠ Konjščina. Since then, the choir has performed at numerous events, primarily in Krapina-Zagorje County. They have also participated in several national and international choir competitions, earning one bronze, one silver, and five gold medals. In 2022 and 2023, they represented Krapina-Zagorje County at the National Choir Meet. The choir consists of 40 members and is conducted by Irena Kušec.
Irena Kušec was born 29.5.1974. In Zagreb. She has been in amateur music her whole life, and in 2024 she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Musical Arts and Culture at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek. Her first conducting experience was with the female vocal ensemble “Kušlec”, which was founded in 2006 and which still exists today. After “Kušlec” she also took over conducting for the mixed choir “Kaj” based in Zlatar Bistrica and the children's choirs “Kajeki” and "Vedre note”. She has been the conductor of the mixed choir “Vitez” from Konjščina since 2021. With her choirs, she has won a series of gold and silver medals in national and international competitions, of which it is worth mentioning the European Choir Games in Gothenburg, the “Anton Bruckner” competition in Linz, Orhid Choir Festival, The international competition “Lege Artis” in Tulsa, competitions organized by the Croatian Choral Conductors Association, and many others. She has been recognized for her work in the field of cultural amateurism in Krapina-Zagorje County, where she was the vice president of The Association of Cultural and Artistic Societies. In addition to being an artistic director, she is the author of lyrics and music for numerous compositions that have been noted at many festivals
