The mixed choir of the University of Banja Luka was founded in 1998 with the desire to include students from all the faculties of the University of Banja Luka in singing in a choir that could make them at least partly familiar with the rich domestic and world choral literature, to develop their singing skills, to achieve and satisfy their interest in the artistic music of different styles and genres, contribute to the promotion, affirmation and popularization of choral singing among the student population. In the first years of his work, choir pursued his activities within the University and the City, and later took part in other cultural events, festivals and concerts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria ... Choir became an important musical ensemble of the City of Banja Luka and BiH. Opening his cultural tasks, choir has regularly performed and still performs remarkable concerts at the International Cultural Event "Days of the Vlado Milosevic", the International Choir Festival "Banja Luka Choir Encounters", the International Festival "Golden Villa" and others. In recent years choir has accomplished intense cooperation with Mixed Choir SPD "Jedinstvo" with which choir successfully performs concerts in various musical events and manifestations. Choir recorded two CDs with compositions of domestic authors, various styles of secular and spiritual choral music and participated in radio and television shows.
Nemanja Savić - Conductor was born in Banja Luka. He graduated from the University in Belgrade where he obtained both a BSc and a MSc in the conducting department. He has worked as music pedagogue and conductor in many places in former Yugoslavia. Today he works as professor at Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, as conductor of the Mixed Choir SPD "JEDINSTVO" and as conductor of the Mixed Choir of University in Banja Luka. As a conductor Mr Nemanja Savić has given the concerts in many cities in the former Yugoslavia, Italy, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Slovakia,China, Bulgaria, Russia, Cyprus, USA, Australia... He has received many acknowledgements for his work and more than thirty first prizes at the choral competitions.Back to the list of ensembles
